COMMUNITY OUTREACH

During 2004, Luz del Sur continued with its support program for the neediest sectors, by means of the development of a number of socially constructive activities, among which the most important were:

HEALTH CAMPAIGN

As in earlier years, the "Luz de Vida" health campaign was implemented, in which specialized physicians from different fields provide medical attention to the inhabitants of the Southern and Eastern districts of Lima, that due to their impoverished condition, have no access to health services. During these campaigns, the physicians of the Vida Peru Association provide thorough check-ups in the areas of ophthalmology, pediatrics, trauma medicine and gynecology Dentistry and laboratory services are also provided. It should be noted that during these medical campaigns not only diagnostics are supplied, but also the necessary medication to carry out the treatment, as well as crutches and walkers if needed.

OSCAR BAILETTI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Company continued with the Oscar Bailetti Scholarship Program aimed at supporting needy and deserving students pursuing higher education at universities and technical schools. Since the beginning of the program four years ago, 19 hard-working students supported by the Annual Scholarship Fund have successfully completed their higher education.

DRUG PREVENTION

In order to prevent drug abuse, Luz del Sur handed out to all of its clients a primer "Guide for Parents", where parents are given orientation on the different kinds of drugs that are so harmful to our society. In this manner, parents will be able to recognize whether their child is consuming drugs and what is the best way to help them deal with this.

SAFETY

The Company also sent all of its clients a small brochure with safety tips on how to prevent electrical accidents both inside and outside the home. This information was well received by Company clients

SUPPORT TO PERU'S NATIONAL POLICE

Luz del Sur, aware of the logistical shortcomings faced by Peru's National Police, donated computer equipment to the precincts within its concession area. The local police welcomed the Company's support.

Our Company is committed to the community; within that community, the neediest are the children. Thus it took part in various activities, among which the most important were:

Support to the various activities that the "Fundación por los Niños del Perú" (Foundation for the Children of Peru) carries out aimed at raising funds in benefit of the abandoned children in our country.
To bring Christmas cheer to the youngest, Luz del Sur donated thousands of toys that were handed out to the neediest children.
Support was given to the Hogar de Cristo which offers shelter to former street children.
The Company cooperated with Peru's League for the Struggle against Cancer, purchasing a significant number of Christmas cards.

ENTERPRISE - CUSTOMER RELATION

Once again, Luz del Sur organized its traditional "Consumers´ Meetings", in which the Company meets with its clients from the South and East of Metropolitan Lima to listen to queries about the service it provides to the community. Safety advice is also given to prevent accidents in the home, and suggestions from the neighbors are heard. In this manner, Luz del Sur continues to improve the service it provides to the community. It is worth noting that Luz del Sur has been the first utility to meet with its consumers.

True to its motto "We deliver more than Light", Luz del Sur will continue with an active participation in the various social processes which can improve the quality of life of its surrounding communities.
