Unidos por la Educación

Children and teenagers in our country needed to return to school for different reasons, such as recovering learning and meeting up with their classmates and teachers again. Direct communication between teachers and students strengthens trust. Another important factor is that not all students have the same access to technology or enough connectivity to properly conduct their classes. On the other hand, each student learns differently, and through remote classes it is very difficult to provide personalized support.

As we know, many public schools were not suitable for reopening, because they did not meet the required maintenance and safety conditions. A quick response was needed from those of us who firmly believe that education is the future of society.

Working in an alliance with Empresarios por la Educación, we made possible the painting, cleaning, disinfection, signaling and general maintenance of some of the schools selected by the Dirección Regional de Educación de Lima Metropolitana (DRELM) for the restart of classes in 2022. Thanks to the donation of Luz del Sur workers, we managed to cover the following Educational Institutions (IIEE) of Ate Vitarte: IE 0034, IE 167, IE Ricardo Palma, IE 0033 Virgilio Espinoza Barrios and IE 134. We benefited more than three thousand children and adolescents, giving them a dignified and safe return to the schools.
